·         Dr Kristian Ulrichsen is a Research Fellow at the London School of Economics and Deputy Director of the Kuwait Programme on Development, Governance and Globalisation in the Gulf States. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and is the author of The Logistics and Politics of the British Campaigns in the Middle East, 1914-22, Insecure Gulf: The End of Certainty and the Transition to the Post-Oil Era, and The Transformation of the Gulf: Politics, Economics and the Global Order (forthcoming, summer 2011).
